Adam Smith:  Josie started pitching in 8u and transitioned to privates in April of 2023.  Concluding that spring season Josie landed a spot on the bronze all star team, leading them to the state games in San Diego. Now, just one year later, Josie has fantastic form, a great change up and is poised to pitch on 10u Gold this summer.

I appreciate Nancy’s ability to

communicate with kids in ways

they understand and her

no-nonsense but kind communication style.  She consistently motivates Josie to be better. I also like that Nancy is more than just a pitching coach, if she see’s poor mechanics in Josie’s throwing, fielding, hitting, or running she will conduct a “mini-lesson” right then.   Nancy has been flexible when needed and is always ready to get to work when we arrive.

Matt and Jo Guilliams:

Malaya started playing softball in early 2023, and knew right away that she wanted to pitch. We began attending Nancy's Monday Clinics and had a series of private lessons with Coach Nancy during the 2023 8U rec season. What a wonderful experience it was having Coach Nancy's guidance and support during Malaya's first season in the circle!

Since that time, Malaya has worked hard with Coach Nancy in private lessons to build the fundamentals of her pitching mechanics as well as to hone the mental side of the game. Pitching is a journey, and Nancy is adept at understanding where your player is at on any given day, tailoring the lesson to the present need. It's clear to us that Nancy cares about Malaya -- the athlete as well as the person -- and that warmth and concern has been important in developing the trust that we all have in Nancy's coaching process.  Malaya is now transitioning into her first 10U summer season, and we're so glad to have Coach Nancy in our corner.

PARENTS TALK

Yetta Garwood: Maeve

David Moore:  Maggie

Nancy’s experience and complete knowledge of pitching is clear from the very first lesson. She consistently diagnoses what modifications and improvements need to be made to get to the next level. Even though we drive 90 minutes to work with her, we always leave knowing it was worth it.

From a few of Nancy's Graduates:

Jeannine Forslund (Ali and Sophie Borden) "My daughters have both been taking lessons and participating in Tide for years.  Nancy has focused on fundamental mechanics that allow both girls to steadily progress, while reducing the chance of injury."

Dave and Teresa Fryklund (Haley and Ali) GVGSA Coach "We've been with Nancy for over 5 years.  She's the most qualified coach in all of SB! "
Lisa Rothstein: (Marlee and Sadie) GVGSA Co-President and Tide Parent
"Nancy coaches not just to win the game today, but to give the girls a more successful softball future.

Cyrus Morici: Emily, began attending Nancy’s clinics during her first year of 8U.  About, halfway through the season she transitioned to private instruction.  What we really like about Nancy, is her ability to uniquely tailor lessons that motivate her players and maximize their performance on the field.

Fall 2023: Emily moved on

to travel ball for 12u.

She's elevated her club

team to the ability to play

more 14u than 12u.

Shannon Allen:  Madison Benedict,

Madison started going to Nancy’s pitching clinics in 8u.  Soon after being exposed to pitching she began lessons with Nancy who worked on basics making sure Madison maximized her power while correcting form issues to stay clear of possible injury.

Madison went on to pitch for SB Tide. Unfortunately

Covid took her Junior high years of softball away

and as a HS Freshman she began working hard to

be able to lead SBHS as a pitcher. Nancy helped

Madison find a club team to continue Madison’s

upward progression.

Madison is now a Junior in High school pitching her third year on Varsity. Nancy has taught Madison to be  strong mentally inside and outside of the circle. Nancy has become Madison’s mentor in life, no matter what the challenge is Madison knows Nancy would be there for guidance.

Steve Wilson: Georgia started lessons with Nancy at 7 years old, as we wanted her to learn correct form from the start.

Georgia played on Nancy’s Tide teams for 5 years which allowed  her to benefit from Nancy’s full suite of Softball coaching skills & total understanding of the game.

Watching Nancy Coach a “working friendly”  where almost every play results in a coaching  opportunity for the girls to improve is

something you have to see to believe.

4 Year Varsity letter at Dos Pueblos High School.   She also plays for Case Batbusters travel ball team and plays worldwide with her Great Britain Softball Club.
